Bike to Work Week Victoria

BC government announces new funding for cycling
The Ministry of Transportation is pleased to announce the launch of the Cycling Infrastructure Partnerships Program (CIPP). The CIPP is a cost-shared program where the Government of British Columbia will partner with local governments in the construction of new transportation cycling infrastructure. BC is also investing in new trail projects...
through their Olympic legacies program.  The Cowichan Valley will benefit from new investments in rail trail projects.  When completed, the trails will provide new opportunities for cyclists in the region.

Cops for Cancer Website
As you may already know, Cops for Cancer, Tour de Rock is the largest cancer fundraiser on the Island. The Tour de Rock involves a team of island police officers cycling from the north end of the island to the south over a period of 12 days. The team will stop in over 30 communities, one of which will be your town. The Tour de Rock raises money for childhood cancer research and Camp Goodtimes, a free summer camp for children with a history of cancer. To date Vancouver Island has raised over 2.7 million dollars in the last five years and this year they have been able to send 38 island children to camp.

Ride the Edge with the GVCC! This test of mettle will take you to Port Renfrew and back along the scenic West Coast Road, as far west as you can go before you get to Japan! Do the 230-km round trip in one day or two. If you choose the two-day option, meet on the Saturday at 8:00 AM and stay overnight in Port Renfrew. Christmas Lights Bike Tour
Held annually by the Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition, this is a pleasant 20-km guided cycle tour of Christmas lights displays. Includes free hot chocolate and draw prizes. Prize for best decorated bike too! Children are welcome but anyone 16 years or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
